What exactly is Proamina®?
Proamina® is a patented blend of natural amino acids (glycine and L-serine), classified as a flavouring under EU Regulation 1334/2008. The patent and trademark belong to NH2 Tech Srl, while Italprotein Srl is the exclusive distributor for Italy.
Is it safe for diabetics?
Proamina® contains no sugars and no carbohydrates, so it does not directly contribute to glycaemic load. That said, we always recommend consulting your doctor or nutritionist for any dietary change in case of specific medical conditions such as type 1 or type 2 diabetes.
Can it be used in cooking, even at high temperatures?
Yes, Proamina® is stable at typical cooking temperatures for pastry and baking. The melting point is 214°C, higher than almost all standard home and professional applications. For extreme cooking above 200°C, we recommend preliminary tests.
Does it substitute 1:1 for sugar in recipes?
Yes. The sweetening power of Proamina® is very close to that of sucrose (1.1×), so in most recipes it substitutes 1:1 by volume. Texture, leavening and colour remain comparable. For specific high-end pastry applications, we recommend some initial calibration tests.
Is it safe for children?
Proamina® is composed of amino acids naturally present in foods. There is no specific contraindication for children, but as it is classified as a flavouring rather than a primary nutritional ingredient, we recommend consulting a paediatrician for the youngest consumers.
How is it stored and how long does it last?
Store in a cool, dry place, away from heat sources and direct sunlight. Minimum shelf life is 24 months from the production date, indicated on every package.
What happens in cooking above 200°C?
The melting point of Proamina® is 214°C. Below this threshold, the product remains stable. For prolonged cooking far above this temperature (some specific pastry applications), please contact us for specific application guidance.
Does it have contraindications or digestive effects?
Proamina® is composed of amino acids naturally present in the human diet. It does not have the gastrointestinal effects typical of polyols like maltitol or sorbitol. As with any food ingredient, we recommend moderation and consulting your doctor in case of specific medical conditions.
How long does a dispenser kit with 250 sachets last?
It depends on the café's foot traffic. On average, in a moderate-traffic café, the 250 sachets last 2-4 weeks. Reordering is simple: only the sachets are reordered, the dispenser is refilled in 30 seconds.
What are the delivery times?
Express delivery within 48 working hours across Italy for standard orders. For industrial quantities (15kg bulk for pastry shops and labs) lead times can be slightly longer, but always communicated at order confirmation.
